DAY 123 : 28 MAY 08

Well I am in Qatar and doing great. We flew in yesterday morning on a C 130 and it was not that bad. A buddy of mine let me borrow his PSP so I played that most of the time. While I was waiting for the flight I watched the Pens get waxed again! I am disgusted with their play but will wake up again and watch them at 3am here as we are 7 hours ahead of East Coast here. Yesterday we just go settled in and checked some things out on base. I had my 3 beers last night plus a 4th for which I will not divulge how I got. (We are only allotted 3 a night, lame I know and hard for a PSU grad like myself.) Anyway had a good buzz and really relaxed for the first time in months. It’s really hot here. As cold as Kyrgyzstan was in January when I went through there it is equally as hot here in Qatar. The base is just a bunch of big brown pole buildings but they have a bunch of nice stuff in them. I am going to go sign up for some trips here in a bit. I would like to go to Doha and also a mall. I will probably go to the beach tomorrow. June is almost here and I could not be happier. I talked to Michelle yesterday and she sounded good. I should be able to post more pictures and write in length once I get off base and actually see something. Until then I will be relaxing in civilian clothes and just chilling. The United Arab Emirates is not far from here and their capital is Dubai which I really want to visit some day. I have realized I really enjoy traveling and am glad I took this opportunity to come here. Anyway I got to make this meeting for the trips so I got to go. I promise to post tomorrows if I have time and include some pictures once I start taking them. OK hopefully the Pens will win, hell just score a freaking goal! Bye for now.

Hi Rob so glad you made it to Qatar safely, sounds like a wonderful peaceful place. Enjoy the beach and sun , this will be good for you. Enjoy shopping, dont forget send me something from there for my collection. Thank you.
Cant wait to see pixs from there, I too really enjoy traveling, we share that love and you are very blessed to see all that you have seen in your young life ....being in many different countries and cultures is a great way to learn and grow as a person.
I just talked to Jane Evans she just came back from Peru she was working in a orphange there for serveral months (she did not have hot water and learned to be content with very cold water showers) then she wnt and spent 6 months with her mother in England who is 90 yrs old and in good health. She lived thru WWI and WWII and Jane started a diary of her life, I think she is really doing a great thing for her mother.
Anyway thats the latest here , I have been talking to Robin it has been very positive and I believe she will be making some very positive changes in the near future , it just has to be on her terms and in her time.

Happy Happy Holiday - I love you Robbie - mom xoxox
