Day 59: 25 MAR 08

Well its really early here but I am watching the Penguins and waiting to talk to Michelle. I wanted to let everyone know I had a fine Easter and hope the same for all of you. I am now good on phone cards and gushers. Thank you all very much. Also I did not end up winning that best new broadcaster award but the guy who won thought I was going to win as we communicated in an email. Also let me make this clear. I am not in the Army! I am in the Air Force and do work with the Army but am not in it and let me tell you there is a huge difference. I am here until mid to late July of this year on a 6 month tour. Now for the pictures. The first one is of me on my most recent trip. it was taken by a photo journalist out of Washington State who I was with for a week. It was a great experience. The snow picture is form when I first got here but I wanted to show all of the snow. The others are from a few weeks ago. I was at a local village. Well I guess thats it. I will post tomorrow night if I get a chance. Enjoy.

Hi Rob,

So glad you are safe and well. Missed you at Easter dinner but you where there in our thoughts and memories of past Easters. When Emma was looking for her Easter eggs I thought of you and Robin on one Easter morning in April when you and her where in the front yard (Fombell)and the weather was real nice ....you both looking for eggs and you always wanting to be ahead of the game was mad Robin was finding more eggs than you. You probably will not remenber this but I do because as your mom I had to stop some fight that morning between the two of you. Anway these pics are really special to me and again I feel humbled and thankful for so many things. YOU are so much missed, 2 down and 4 to go. love you mama

its me again just a another comment...dont make such a big deal that someone thought you are in the Army (the men and women in the Army are proud of that) you all are on the same team (right) and in the big picture of things if you are seeing and feeling what you say you are this is just a little thing to comment on (right).
Watching March Madness ? Very interesting. Love you Robbie ....mom.

Unfortuanately Rob, more Gushers are on the way. LOL

And you are right, there is a BIG difference between the Army and the Air Force. I was always glad that my son took the Air Force route. Not that I don't appreciate our Army or our other Forces, because I do, but we are an Air Force family. My uncle made it a lifetime career and with the wrong path he was heading down as a teenager, who knows what would have become of him if he had not made that decision.

Easter was cold here but still enjoyable. It was a little sad watching the kids hunt eggs in winter coats and hats but they didn't seem to care at all.

Again, I enjoy the pictures and the stories and continue to wish you well.

And to your Mom, thank you for the kind words. I am sure that you are very proud of Rob, as well you should be. Feel free to email me at any time:

Take care Rob.
Sincerely,
Sher

My posts sometimes don't get published on you site, Rob.

Are you screening your participants?? :)

Now, that's better.
I typed a long time yesterday but could never post the comment.
Govt. computers are funny sometimes.
I wanted to commend you on your public endorsement of Obama.

With McCain not being your man, I guess you have chosen the senator from Illinois.

he's got as good of a chance as any of the three. I saw where Hillary was campaigning yesterday at a satellite campus of PSU.
She wants that Penn. vote.

Bill and Chelsea, it seems, were in South Bend.

State's out of the Big Dance and I am waiting to see if Kansas comes through to win it all. They and NC look awesome and unstoppable.

Was in Austin to see friends and went to a Lutheran service for Easter. It was a really nice church and a good service.

Will send pics, if possible, when we get our home computer. We're close to closing on a house here in western part of San Antonio. You and Mich. can come visit, if you choose.

Take care.
