DAY 36: 2 MAR 08
Well today was probably the best day I have had on base so far. I did the radio show for 4 hours today and then had a little shoot. The weather was perfect: 63 degrees with a little wind and tons of birds chirping. It wasn’t very dusty either. According to my calculations I have done 20% of my deployment. I know it’s not a lot but hey I am getting there. I talked to a good bit of people this weekend and it felt good. It looks as if I will be on base most of March. I got a little 2 day trip coming up but that’s about it. I am also going to be anchoring sometime this month maybe. For those who have the Pentagon Channel you will be able to see me in the states. I will be sure to update that scenario. Anyway that’s about it. I will try to post more pictures tomorrow night. Rob

Just popping in to say hello. You seem to be in better spirits today. In no way can I imagine your life day to day over there but I CAN relate to the co-worker issue. LOL
With all the snow and bad road conditions around here, I still have not made it to a store. I've been lucky to get to work and back but I will get there eventually.
I have truely appreciated the photos that you have posted. You have really opened my eyes to things that I knew nothing about.
Friday they laid Myron Cope to rest and there were tributes everywhere with more to come. His loss has really put a dark cloud over the entire city.
I keep you in my thoughts and check in every day to see how you are doing. Your sacrafices do not go unnoticed nor unappreciated.
Take Care and hopefully with better weather over there, time will pass more quickly.
Continuing to pray for your safety and yes, those of your co-woorkers also.
Sher
I didn't have any details until today but I wanted to mention that Big Ben just signed an 8 year ~ 102 mil contract with the Steelers. I love Ben but I'm not so sure any athlete is worth 102 mil. Still, I am happy that he is hanging in there with us. All the athlete salaries are way out of line as far as I am concerned but then what do I know?
Robbie Im happy to report your sister visited your Dad yesterday and he and Emma made a snowman together...they both had a nice time thank the Lord, I know that would make you very happy. I sent some pkgs today and phone cards that Gram bought you , love you bunches and miss you ....looking forward to new reports from Bagram and Sher is keeping you updated on all the sports news in Pittsburgh...Thank you very much Sher, your great. Just for the record and my record means nothing but I agree with you ...all the sports figures are over paid no matter how much talent they are blessed with. Good night ! mama
Ever since you did the piece on Bo I've been checking your blogs and find them so much more interesting and telling then the news here. I have enjoyed your pictures, it's hard to imagine what it's really like to live under those conditions.
Be safe and take care,
Donna
